Sad Day...

My truck is having issues now.  It won't start well. It leaks oil. I cleaned the TBI on Monday.  I am replacing the O2 sensor.  We'll see.  It may also be the MAP sensor or the Idle Air Sensor.  More when I know...

New Tires

So, I have made a few more modifications to my truck finally.

I have replaced the tires and the smog pump piping.

My First Cosmetic Changes

I decided to put a rear sliding window in my truck. My dad's truck has one, and it makes a big difference in the temperature. I went ahead and had the tinted window put in. I wanted to wait until all the body work was done, but I had a certificate that was about to expire, so I had the work done.
My wheels are in sorry condition. The tires are old, and the steel rims are in less than prime condition. I took them off and cleaned them up. It took more effort than I thought to get the rust off. After a few coats of paint the rims look pretty ok. I want to replace them eventually, but for now this will do.

A Good Chance to Keep Track of My Truck

I thought it might be fun to keep a log of my truck and its repairs. I will try to catch up on the repairs:

In order to get it legal in urban Utah (June 2006) I needed to:
Solder the reverse and brake lights since they were not functioning
Replace the smog valve
Replace the spark plugs and wires
Replace the cracked windshield
Replace the passenger side exhaust manifold
Replace the worn out tires
Replace the brake master cylinder
Replace the front brake pads
Replace the passenger side front brake caliper

Later in the summer I replaced the master and slave cylinders for the clutch as well as the clutch fluid reservoir cap. (The clutch went out; it was an adventure getting home!)

I replaced the stabilizer and one tie rod to get the front end to stop shuddering after every bump.

In July 2007 I:
Put a CB Radio in the truck
Put new front speakers in the truck

And that brings me up to today, minus the oil changes.
